Our specialist literacy teachers use an integrated approach where reading develops naturally through writing. Children do not simply copy work. Instead, they learn how to create letters, words and sentences using the skills they have been taught during the lesson. This helps them understand how language works, rather than just memorising it. During each session, children are encouraged to see, say, hear and write at the same time. This multi-sensory method helps learning become more secure and supports children in becoming more confident readers, writers and thinkers.
