Speech Therapy

Speech therapy supports children who find it difficult to understand language, express themselves clearly, or communicate confidently with the people around them. Some children may not fully understand what parents or teachers are saying because their vocabulary or grammar skills are still developing. Others may know what they want to say, but their speech may be unclear, too fast, mumbled, or difficult for others to understand. For some children, expressing thoughts and ideas can feel especially challenging. They may manage simple sentences, but struggle when they need to explain something more detailed. This can be frustrating for the child, and also worrying for parents and teachers.

Specialist Speech Therapists

A speech therapist works with the child in a calm, quiet setting to understand what may be holding back their communication development. Through carefully chosen games, activities and talking exercises, the therapist helps the child strengthen the specific areas they find difficult. This may include understanding language, using new words, forming sentences, improving speech sounds, or speaking more clearly. Speech therapists can also liaise with the child’s teacher, helping school staff understand the child’s needs and providing practical strategies that support learning in the classroom.
Parents trust our speech therapy support because it looks at the whole child — not just how they speak, but how they understand, learn, express themselves and interact with others. Our aim is to help each child reach their full communication potential, so they can listen, understand, speak clearly and feel more confident with family, friends, teachers and classmates.
